We're Rebuilding "GREATER"

Welcome to Re-Church...
We're excited about what God is doing and can truly see the power of God working through our ministry. We have a great opportunity to build an awesome edifice and want your comments, ideas and thoughts as to how it will look, what it will offer and how it will function. We also want your ideas about anything within the ministry. We're here to serve you!

This blog is for members as being our space to meet and share. We are family...

I was so hurt when I heard about the fire destroying the church. I was at work when I received the phone call and my heart dropped to my stomach. I was heartbroken. But when I contacted one of the elders to find out some news; he seemed unconcerned. I was confused at first, so I asked him, "what are we going to do about service". He calmly answered, "check the website daily, they will let us know. We will be okay". At this point I realized, he knew God had a greater plan for us and we were going to be greater than before. When I attended the first service at Temple Sinai, I was amazed. Bishop, Pastor and all the Greater St. Stephen family were there worshipping God just as before! Nothing or noone can keep us down. We will yet rise again and be even Greater than before. I am looking for a new church of excellence! Much better than before. Beautiful house of Zion.
Thank you GOD!

My husband and I were deeply saddened when we heard about the fire damaging the church where we both turned our life over to the Lord. For the past 10 years job have taken us to other states away from our home. My husband have retired thanks be to GOD and we are now living in Baton Rouge, La close enough to come back home to what we know.
We have truly missed Greater and is looking forward to an even GREATER edifice. We really don’t want much the same worship and praise that we have missed these last 10 years and I would like to have WOE back!

It is so awesome to see the hand of God at work. Let the nay sayers say what they will. We know that God has Greater things in store for us. The day fater the fire, I knew that God was in control. I knew that what the devil meant for evil, God was going to turn to our good. I am so excited to see what God has in store for us. We are so blessed to have our Bishop and Pastor Bee as spirtual parents/leaders/visionaries. To much is given, much is required. I know that God has Greater Works, a Greater Faith and a Greater Church for us. Let us be obedient and attentive to the voice of the Lord. And follow the shephards as they follow Christ.

Let the redeem of the Lord say so... I am so happy that the church is asking what we want in it... Well I believe, a kitchen would be nice,
and we need a theatre, and no im not talking about the screens in the santurary. I am talking about for like when the men watch the Monday night football, and things of that nature. A cry room would awesome... Some comfortable pews... are maybe even those movie seats... a fitness area... a gym for a kids(basketball court) a sweet shop... lets make church fun, and lets just have ministries were anybody can work in them, and all lets have all kinds of ministries so that the every one in the church can be part of something.... and i agree with Donna Richard we do need a fitness center... because we want to praise him and be healthy !!!!

I would like to post a comment about the miracles that God works. I am ne to Atlanta, I moved here about 1 month ago. As I have been here I have seen God to amazing things in my life. Pastor spoke a work last Sunday He said, "Take the limits Off". I had been going through so much, that that word became life for me. I took the limits of God and when Idid he performed miracle after miracle. I was behind on my car payment, when I called to make arrangements it was told to me that the payment was already made! I thank God for that, and for all He will still do!

May God continue to bless GSS. Since leaving the ministry in 2002, I never found another church like GSS in New Orleans and it broke or at least caused a hair line fracture to my heart when the uptown location was destroyed. But to make a long story short,I MISS GSS, BISHOP AND CO-PASTOR AND WILL ALWAYS MISS THE MINISTRY. But I''m coming back to renew my relationship with not only God, but my church family. Thank you. Bro. Hawkins.. :)
